About Crunchy Mostly

KailaHi, I'm Kaila. 🌿

Welcome to Crunchy Mostly.

I'm a homeschool mom of two, a former massage therapist, and someone who's been on this journey of crunchy living for over 15 years.

My wellness journey started while I was working as a massage therapist. Those seven years completely changed the way I looked at health. They opened my eyes to holistic healing, herbs, nutrition, movement, and the incredible ways our bodies are designed to heal and adapt.

Along the way, I watched people I loved battle chronic illness and lose family members to cancer. It only reinforced my desire to live as intentionally as I could and create a healthier life for my family.

Like so many of us, I thought if I just learned enough, researched enough, and made all the "right" choices, I could protect the people I loved.

Then life humbled me.

In 2025, my oldest daughter was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease.

I had done the home birth. The organic food. The holistic lifestyle. The low-tox home.

I thought I was doing everything right.

Her diagnosis was such a blow to my ego because it challenged so much of what I believed about healing and control. It sent me on a whole identity search.

Over time, I've come to realize something I wish I'd understood years ago.

We can't protect ourselves from everything.

We can read the labels. We can grow the garden. We can make the herbal tea. We can ask the questions and do the research.

And we should.

But we also have to leave room for life.

I've learned that wellness isn't about perfection.

It's about doing the best you can with the information you have while remembering to laugh, enjoy the people you love, and not carry the weight of believing everything depends on you.

I've also always been a creative person.

Whether it was dance, art, photography, writing, or diving headfirst into whatever new granny hobby has captured my attention, creating has always filled my cup.

Crunchy Mostly became the place where all of those pieces of me finally came together.

My love of wellness.

My love of creativity.

My endless curiosity.

My appreciation for old-fashioned hobbies.

And my belief that life is meant to be enjoyed—not perfected.

This little corner of the internet is for the women who read ingredient labels, dream about chickens and greenhouses, accidentally turn every simple question into a three-hour research project... but still keep a few favorite non-crunchy vices around because life is about balance, not perfection.

I hope Crunchy Mostly feels like a place where you can learn something new, laugh at yourself, embrace your inner granny, and remember that you don't have to do everything perfectly to live well.

That's what Crunchy Mostly means to me.

Doing your best.

Staying curious.

Creating a beautiful life.

And finding joy somewhere in the middle.

Thank you for being here.

I'm so glad you found your way to this little corner of the internet. 🤍🌿
